Welcome to episode 50 where John and I have some fun and go a bit off topic to discuss one of the best TV shows of all time. You'll learn how with just a little bit of sound financial planning our favorite character, Walter White, could have left his family the legacy he actually intended. Instead he became the infamous Heisenberg that led to so much societal mayhem and an epic fall from grace over 5 seasons of the best character arc ever created. The lesson here: the financial choices you make (or don't make) have consequences. We hope you enjoy the episode! In previous episodes we've explained the strategy, covered the benefits, and highlighted best practices, but in this episode we are going to challenge you to ask if the financial decisions you make are morally the best you can make for yourself, your family, and society. Take a listen and hear what we have to say about the moral case for IBC and why you should practice Infinite Banking. After all, truth is the end of all inquiry. If you have questions about Infinite Banking, be sure to connect with an IBC practitioner. You can connect with the hosts at www.TheFifthEdition.com.
A question we are often asked by new clients, just starting their IBC journey is "how much should I fund a policy?" Or "How much does it cost?" Whole life insurance, for the purposes of implementing the Infinite Banking Concept, is about capitalizing (aka, storing cash). So the real question should be: "How much do you want to save?" When looked at in this way, we start to see that whole life insurance premiums are not a cost at all. Questions? In this episode we'll discuss the rules of thumb, pro's and con's, and other insights you ought to know if you're thinking about starting an Infinite Banking policy for your children. In the insurance world, these are called juvenile policies. And be sure to give Episode 21 "https://www.thefifthedition.com/who-should-you-insure-first/ (Who to Insure First)" another listen for additional context! As always, let us know what questions you have. The hosts of the show are IBC Authorized Practitioners and can be reached at www.TheFifthEdition.com.
We often talk to folks who will tell us they have a lump sum of money that they want to use to "start their IBC policy." How can we deal with large lump sums of cash with regards to The Infinite Banking Concept? We can't deal with it like most of us are used to with typical financial accounts. Because life insurance is an actuarial product, we must have a strategy to deal with large lumps sums. The good news is that when we use IBC principles, it's even better than just depositing the money in an account. If this is something that has been on your mind, go to www.thefifthedition.com and schedule a free consultation.
In this episode we share some thoughts on taxes. In Becoming Your Own Banker, Nelson Nash likens the financial world to flying an airplane. "... you cannot fly an airplane through a vacuum. It must go through an environment!" If you ever travel by plane, you know that it takes longer to fly west than it does to fly east. This is because flying west, you are flying into a headwind. It takes around 20% longer to fly west than it does to fly east. In finance, all costs (now and in the future) create a financial headwind. And for most people taxes are the largest drag on our financial lives. Let's discuss! Real estate investors, more than others, perhaps, have difficulty getting comfortable with the capitalization period of a whole life insurance policy. In this episode we break this down in detail and walk through a 30-year model of buying real estate with bank cash vs buying real estate using life insurance cash value. One of the biggest talking points in 2021 has been inflation with government reported CPI at numbers not seen since the early 1980's. Will inflation be "transitory" as Fed Chairman Jerome Powell stated or is it here to stay? More importantly for Infinite Banking, does IBC still make sense going into 2022 and beyond if inflation persists? We tackle why IBC still makes sense in a world with rising inflation so you'll want to take a listen to this episode. As we continually remind listeners, you'll never be in a worse position by having access to cash, especially in a world with so much uncertainty! If you're wondering what Nelson Nash meant when he instructed Infinite Bankers to pay extra interest, this is your episode! Paying "extra interest" really seems to confuse a lot of people because it is so ingrained into our psyche to be told what our required loan payment is each month. So much so that the idea of setting our own schedule of payments can be completely foreign to new Infinite Bankers. This is what financial freedom is... the ability to make your own financial decisions on your own terms. Infinite Banking allows this autonomy and control over your finances.
