Many of us believe that the culture we live in mirrors innate human nature. But today’s dominant cultures of competitive destructive detachment are rare and recent. Nearly every other culture that has ever existed during our species history over millions of years has been one of connected cooperative companionship. We evolved in cooperative bands of kin and nonkin where we were nurtured and welcomed by all members of the community. We lived together, we gathered food together, we sang together, and we danced together. We knew it would have been impossible to survive on our own. But together, we thrived. Today, we are living in a culture that goes against everything it means to be human. Our culture emphasizes toughness over tenderness, isolation instead of togetherness, even for babies. As a result, we are depressed, anxious, chronically ill, and at the bottom of every international indicator for health. We are stuck in a Cycle of Competitive Detachment where we feel disconnected from others and even ourselves, while at the same time feeling we have to compete for anything worthwhile. There is a way, not only to break this cycle, but to create a new cycle, one that reclaims our humanity and helps us heal ourselves and our culture. We can create a cycle of connected, cooperative companionship. To heal ourselves and our world, we simply must return to this way of nurturing children and communities. And today's guest TEACHES how to restore the Cycles of Connected, Cooperative Companionship. Darcia Narvaez is a Professor of Psychology Emerita at the University of Notre Dame, who has written extensively on issues of character, moral development and human flourishing and whose work encompasses the neurology of moral development, as well as the study of evolved parenting practices. Narvaez is a fellow of the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Amongst other, she is the author of the books Neurobiology and the Development of Human Morality, and Restoring the Kinship Worldview: Indigenous Voices Introduce 28 Precepts for Rebalancing Life on Planet Earth. She is also the founder of https://evolvednest.org, an online platform dedicated to restore human nature to its cooperative orientation, its original and "normal" human heritage. Welcome back, beautiful Superhumans, to another episode of The Superhumanize Podcast. I am so honored and happy you are sharing your time with me. Have you ever felt like there is something wrong with the story you have been told? Like something is profoundly off with the worldview that has been taught to us? You are not alone. More and more of us feel like we have been given a false and outdated narrative, about ourselves, the Universe and our place in it. And today we are at a point where cutting edge new science AND ancient spiritual wisdom are merging, offering us a new understanding of reality that can guide the human family, the individual and collective consciousness to evolve, leading us out of dis-ease and to the healing of humanity and the planet. Separation is an illusion and the story of separation we have been told for the last few thousand years is at the root of many of the issues we are facing now. This episode's guest, Dr. Jude Currivan is a cosmologist, futurist and planetary healer and she joins us today to talk about the essential nature of the Universe and how cosmic unity permeates every level of existence, from the atomic, to the personal, to the galactic. Jude holds a PhD in Archeology from the University of Reading and a Masters Degree in Physics from Oxford University specializing in Cosmology and Quantum Physics. She is the co-founder of Whole World View and she is the author of six non-fiction books. Her latest, The Cosmic Hologram is the first of the Transformation trilogy. The second book in the series, GAIA: Her-Story, will be published this fall. The emerging realization that unity is the foundation of all being will profoundly impact humanity in the years to come, providing hope and inspiration that we can evolve and transform the world. In this episode with Jude Currivan, you'll discover: -Why the old paradigm of how we view the Universe is fundamentally flawed...04:16 -Recent discoveries in the scientific community that corroborate Jude's worldview...08:20 -Fractal patterns that define our existence...15:25 -The beginning of the Universe was a Big Breath, not a "big bang"...20:10 -Reconnect to the story of meaning on an individual level to help the collective heal...23:46 -"Show me the evidence"...27:24 -How we can embrace the non-local intelligence of the universe...31:21 -Healing past trauma by connecting with Gaia, the Earth...35:11 -A world of separation is a world in need of healing...38:40 -Thinking cosmic, feeling global, acting local...42:44 Resources mentioned: WEBSITES https://www.wholeworld-view.org (Whole World View) https://www.evolutionaryleaders.net (Evolutionary Leaders) BOOKS https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JM2XGKW/ (The Cosmic Hologram) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0052XSEXU/ (HOPE: Healing Our People and Earth) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004AM771O/ (The 8th Chakra: What It Is And How It Can Transform Your Life)
What if everything we were taught about consciousness by conventional science in the past was wrong? And what if there was proof that heaven exists? Imagine being a distinguished brain-surgeon, teaching at Harvard and you are convinced there is no afterlife. Until all of a sudden your brain dies and you are on life-support for seven days. And during these seven days you travel to the other side and meet God. This is the story of Dr. Eben Alexander. The American neurosurgeon’s book https://www.amazon.com/Proof-Heaven-Neurosurgeons-Journey-Afterlife-ebook/dp/B008AK8FHM/ (Proof of Heaven) debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and his latest book https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y2SFPR2/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_tkin_p1_i1 (Living in a Mindful Universe) is a compelling introduction to the current paradigm shift in science, where the old nihilistic worldview where consciousness is merely a side effect of brain activity is now being replaced by the idea that consciousness is the fundamental basis of what defines and makes reality itself. Dr. Eben Alexander’s take on consciousness, mind, soul and love offers a compass to navigate the trying times of conflict and confusion we are currently experiencing. In this interview he not only talks about life after death, but also how to live a more meaningful existence right here and now and how his Near Death Experience completely changed his old worldview, which was until then, completely materialistic. In this interview with Eben Alexander, you'll discover: -The "Amnesia of the Divine"...02:49 -How quantum physics has debunked the pseudo-science of materialism...07:00 -Eben recounts his encounter with the Divine...12:45 -How and when the "materialistic" worldview came in vogue around the world...21:33 -How reconnecting with the spiritual realm eases anxiety and fear in this life...25:42 -Prayer and living in a mindful universe...31:32 -Why evil is necessary for personal and communal growth...37:40 -What to say to those who maintain this life has no meaning...42:37 -Ethical concerns over advances in the realm of extending our physical presence on Earth...49:25 -Self-love as it relates to interconnectedness with others...54:04 -Eben's best personal practice... When we are children, we ask questions upon questions. As adults, many of us lose that expression of innate curiosity and even become embarrassed about asking questions at all. And that is a shame, as questions are one of the most powerful tools to elevate ourselves and the world we live in. Questions are not only deeply revealing about the person who asks, but are profound drivers of our culture and of human history. The right question at the right time can change everything, from the course of a relationship to the course of the world. There is an art to asking the right questions and questions can also be wielded as weapons. How to learn one and to recognize and deal with the other is something this episode's guest is intimately familiar with. Warren Berger is a "questionologist". He is the author of internationally bestselling books such as The Book of Beautiful Questions, The Powerful Questions That Will Help You Decide, Create, Connect and Lead and he also is the creator of th...
In our lifetime we spend about 25 years asleep and for at least 6 of these years, we are dreaming. Dreams have fascinated philosophers for thousands of years, but only very recently dreams have become the subject of scientific study. I am certain that most of you who are listening have often wondered about your dreams, where they come from and what they mean and why you dream at all. My guest today has answers to these questions and some of them are as surprising as they are enlightening. Ian Wallace is a psychologist who specialises in dreams and dreaming. He is widely acclaimed in the media for his live dream analysis. Ian has an encyclopaedic knowledge of dreams and the dreaming process and over thirty years of experience of putting his learning into successful practice. Since graduating in Psychology, Ian has analysed hundreds of thousands of dreams for his clients during his professional career as a dream psychologist. As the author of the best-selling dream books, ‘The Top 10...
What does it take to be a good leader or a great team member? One important aspect of this is the capacity to be able to connect with others, especially those who are different from us. Not only to ensure an optimally functioning organization, but to create teams that collaborate together with a passion and a purpose and to establish psychologically safe environments for individuals, where everyone can feel at ease with making their voice heard and count. And this episode's guest teaches exactly how to make this happen. LaTonya Wilkins is the founder of the Change Coaches and specializes in coaching executives on leading “below the surface” to build psychologically safe relationships with their teams across differences. She is a sought-after keynote speaker and has inspired audiences all over the world. LaTonya has worked with leaders at many well-known companies including Google, GE, The New York Times, and several nonprofits and she is the author of https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1951591844 (Leading Below the Surface: How to Build Real (and Psychologically Safe) Relationships with People Who Are Different from You). The ancient Greek aphorism “Know thyself” is intimately connected to self-awareness and being in charge of our own thoughts and personality. I have always found the travel inward, into our inner world, at least as important as the outward travel of physically exploring the world. There is power in knowing our own mind. And my guest today is a visionary and innovator with regard to the power and potential of the mind. Ariel Garten is a neuroscientist and entrepreneur whose driving purpose is to empower and help others overcome mental obstacles in order to live healthy, happy lives and reach their maximum potential. Ariel is a co-founder of InteraXon, the makers of Muse: the brain sensing headband. Muse is the award-winning wearable technology that assists and trains meditation and mindfulness. Before founding InteraXon, Ariel was not only trained as a neuroscientist and psychotherapist, but also started her own international clothing line while she worked in labs researching Parkinson’s disease and hippocampal neurogenesis. It was her unique ability to blend science with art that was integral to the design of Muse and to Interaxon’s unique approach to brain sensing technology. Her team’s technology has been featured in over 1000 media pieces and also was the feature showcase at not only the 2018 G7 Summit, but also at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics where they set up an installation that allowed over 7,000 people to control the lights on the CN tower, Canadian parliament buildings, and Niagara Falls with their brains from across the country. In this episode with Ariel Garten, you'll discover: -The meta-crisis of technology and how to alleviate it...03:05 -How technology helps us tune into ourselves...06:00 -The Muse headband: how it works and what it does...08:15 -Ariel's fascination with the inner workings of the mind...10:30 -Really knowing yourself is hard; here is why it's worth it...11:55 -How Muse helps with anxiety...16:55 -Current hot topics in the neuroscience field...20:30 -Ariel's background intersecting science, art, and business...24:00 -A survey of female-led business: then vs. now...27:20 -Advice for up and coming ladypreneurs...30:30 -The future of brain technologies: how they can help us heal...33:55 -Look at others with love...36:30 Resources mentioned: https://choosemuse.com/muse-2/ (Website) Guest's social handles: https://www.instagram.com/choosemuse/ (Instagram) https://www.facebook.com/choosemuse/ (Facebook)
Holistic health considers multidimensional aspects of wellness. To truly achieve optimal wellness in the physical, mental, and spiritual sense, we need to view and support the body as an incredible system it is. My guest today is Philipp Samor von Holtzendorff-Fehling, a coach, conscious entrepreneur, and energy healer! In our conversation we will dive into the fascinating world of quantum energy and frequencies. While having a successful international business career, Philipp started to see and work through blockages that prevented him from connecting with his true self. At the same time he began to perceive energy fields, subsequently putting him on the path of becoming a conscious entrepreneur and going through two decades of training in shamanic and other energy healing practices. He left the international corporate world and today is the co-founder of Leela Quantum Tech which offers technology that harnesses the healing power of quantum energy. Philipp says that energetic abund...
