The pandemic is not over and stress on parents is not going to magically go away and it is critical that we recognize and find ways to prevent burnout in parents. Kate Gawlik, an Associate Professor of Clinical Nursing at The Ohio State University on how to recognize the signs of parental burnout and how to cope with it. Parental burnout builds in stages, slowly. Phase one -overwhelming exhaustion. Next phase, burned-out parents tend to distance themselves from their kids to preserve their energy.
