This week we’re talking about Dr. John Calhoun, who spent the 1960s and 1970s playing god to thousands of rodents. He dedicated his time to building better and better mouse paradises with beautiful buildings and limitless food. Life was theoretically issue free. Each experiment, he introduced a few mice and let them live and reproduce in paradise. But, shortly after, the mice had created their own apocalypse… each and every time. It seems that evolution has given animals an innate and irreversible self-destruct button to prevent a species from overpopulating its habitat, will this apply to humans too?
