The US Calls For Eritrea's Immediate Exit From Ethiopia
The US envoy to the United Nations has called for the withdrawal of Eritrean troops from Ethiopia immediately after reports of rape and sexual violence.

The US has called for a joint investigation by the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights and the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission in Tigray.
The US mission in a statement says they acknowledge Prime Minister Abiy’s commitment to hold accountable all those responsible for human rights violations and abuses, and atrocities. The Eritrean government must make a similar commitment.
Eritrea has previously dismissed accusations of abuses.
Ethiopia says it is investigating the reports of sexual violence. A senior Eritrean official described the allegations as fabricated.
