In this podcast, I resent the success of Irish comedian Neil Delamere and am 80% happy for him. Neil has performed at festivals all over the world including Edinburgh, Melbourne and Montreal. This was one of the first 'interviews' I did in 2013 with brilliant comedian Eleanor Tiernan. Eleanor is one of the stars and writers of Irish Pictorial Weekly on RTE which you should go and look for on You Tube. She loved doing this podcast with me and told me it was only a matter of time before Angelina Jolie would get in touch and want to adopt me for being such a legend*. In this episode, we talk about writing, de comedy and I say 'yeah, yeah, yeah' a lot. (*not true).Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-80-with-esther-omoore-donohoe. This week on The 80%, I am 80% happy for Rachel Carey's success. By day, Rachel works in the glamorous world of advertising where she thinks outside the box, lands big accounts, sits on bean bags and writes ads like this http://youtu.be/zNAR5T_DSvs. By night, she writes film scripts and comedy sketches and has self-produced the short film 'Scenesters' filmhttp://vimeo.com/83314409 . Her hair also has the most body and shine of any person, I've ever met, living or dead. She's a great lad altogether; listen!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/the-80-with-esther-omoore-donohoe. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

John Colleary is a writer and comedian based in Dublin. Here are the some of the reasons why I am 80% happy for his success. 1. He is one of the stars and co-writers of the thrice IFTA nominated The Savage Eye. 2. He has gigged with some of Ireland's best stand-ups including Des Bishop, Jason Byrne and David Mc Savage.3. He is from Sligo, home to the best town in Ireland, Ballymote. He also knows Kian Egan's (Westlife) brother. John dreams of one day being rich and famous enough to purchase a Swarovski crystal hi-vis vest. No doubt he will achieve this dream. TO JOHN! This week I'm 80% happy for former casting director turned assistant director, Clare McGinley. To date she has worked on shows such as the R.T.E series 'Raw' and 'Love Hate' to 'Begin Again', starring Kiera Knightly, Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine. She is currently assistant director to John Carney who directed 'Once' which starred Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. 'Once' won an Oscar for Best Original Song for 'Falling Slowly', something I am unlikely to do.Anyone interested in working behind the scenes in TV and film should have a listen to this here podcast.
