On June 9, 2022, while in his home with his wife and 6 children, gubernatorial candidate Ryan Kelley of Michigan found himself in handcuffs—arrested by the FBI for his alleged involvement in the events of January 6th, 2020 in Washington DC. The misdemeanor charges alleges that Mr. Kelley, among other things, that he "knowingly entered and engaged in disorderly conduct in restricted buildings or grounds and engaged in an act of physical violence against a person or property." Fortunately, Ryan was nowhere near the Capitol that day. As Ryan Kelley pointed out, this arrest was politically motivated as he has started to lead in the polls against Michigan's current governor Gretchen Whitmer.
