Whole 30! This diet is like the name sounds, for 30 days. The premise of the Whole 30 is an elimination diet cutting out a lot of foods that you shouldn’t be eating and incorporating the foods that you should for a healthier lifestyle.

Do you have blood pressure issues? If so the DASH diet may be for you. Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) is an eating plan to lower or control high blood pressure. The DASH diet emphasizes foods that are lower in sodium as well as foods that are rich in potassium, magnesium and calcium — nutrients that help lower blood pressure.

Ther Weston A Price diet is meant to get back to nutrient rich foods. The diet is full of foods that will help your body function the way it was supposed to with foods rich in enzymes, fats, full fat milk, and fermented foods.

This protocol was developed to treat autoimmune issues and allows for a wide array of foods but also cuts out foods that are thought to cause autoimmune issues.

The Specific Carbohydrate Diet has helped many people with various forms of bowel disease and other ailments improve their quality of life. This diet is intended for Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease, diverticulitis, cystic fibrosis and chronic diarrhea. The types of carbohydrates that are allowed on this diet are based on their molecular structure.

The GAPS diet was created based off of premises from the SCD and is largely known for helping children dealing with gut flora and digestive issues. The diet was created by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride the diet focuses on removing foods that are difficult to digest that damage gut flora and replace them with nutrient-dense foods to give the intestinal lining a chance to repair itself.

Should you eat based on your body type? We all have a certain “shape” about us but should we eat based on how our body looks? There are 3 different somatotypes that we are going to look at and talk about how you can eat based off of your type and even know what types of workouts would most benefit you.

do you remember when the “cheat days” were a big thing? A lot of that premise was based on the idea of carb cycling. Our bodies get used to a certain amount of calories especially when we diet and carb cycling is a way to refuel the body and potentially rev up the metabolic rate to get further results.

Should we fluctuate the amount of calories that we are eating per day, per week, or some other variable? Reverse Dieting/Dieting breaks gives the user an opportunity to “break” their diet where they can increase their calories for potential greater long term dieting effects.

Ahhh the ever popular cleanse! There are thousands of cleanses out there from veggie drinks, fruit cleanses, liver cleanses, and a whole lot more. We will go over some of the cleanses and see what the research says.

Fasting may seem like a new “fad” but in fact has been around for thousands of years and many cultures have fasted for religious beliefs. There are many forms of fasting including intermittent fasting, every other day fasting, fasting mimicking diets, and even long term fasting which is meant to help with our cells and even increase our lifespan. These episodes will go into the many forms of fasting and how to go about them.
