Last month, a 14-year-old girl turned herself in to authorities for her alleged role in the beating death of a 73-year-old man. On Wednesday, July 13, NBC Philadelphia reported two teenagers surrendered to Philadelphia Police, but the 13-year-old was later released. In the death of 73-year-old James Lambert, however, the 14-year-old was charged with third-degree murder. A traffic cone was reportedly used to beat him several times. In the same incident, a 14-year-old boy and his 10-year-old brother surrendered to Philadelphia Police earlier this week. NBC Philadelphia reports that the 14-year-old has been charged with murder, but the 10-year-old has been released. Lambert was allegedly attacked by four juvenile males and three juvenile females at 2:38 a.m. on Friday, June 24, in the vicinity of Cecil B. Moore Avenue. The suspects hit the victim several times with objects, knocking him to the ground and injuring his head, according to the police report. The following day, Lambert died from his wounds after being taken to a nearby hospital. If you like TRUE CRIME TODAY - Be sure to search and subscribe wherever you download podcasts! Amanda Quill had a very unique childhood that would leave her with many questions about the paranormal. She would find herself moving from Canada to Scotland, and back to Canada again. With every path that she went down, she would do all she could to read about and try to understand the world of the paranormal, in a world that at the time, didn’t want to talk about it. This drive would continue through her life, and lead her to a journey of discovering the dead. PART 2 - AVAILABLE TO GRAVE KEEPERS ONLY - LISTEN HERE In part two of our interview, available only to Grave Keepers, we discuss: Does Amanda think we are capturing more evidence of paranormal now, than in the past? It has been revealed who Ricky Martin's accuser is, just days after he denied allegations of domestic violence made in a Puerto Rican restraining order. According to Marca, Martin's brother Eric Martin revealed the victim is his nephew's artist nephew Dennis Yadiel Sanchez after the complaint was made anonymously under Law 54. Martin's 21-year-old nephew alleges that he ended a seven-month relationship with him, and Martin reacted by constantly reaching out to him and loitering outside his house. The relationship was characterized by physical and psychological abuse, according to Sanchez. On July 21, a legal battle will begin. Puerto Rican law takes allegations of incest very seriously. A jury could sentence the artist to up to 50 years in prison if he is found guilty. According to Martin's representatives, the allegations that led to the protection order are completely false and fabricated. "We are very confident that when the true facts come out in this matter our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated." On July 4, the "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer vehemently denied the allegations on Twitter with optimism. "The protection order entered against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond through the judicial process with the facts and the dignity that characterize me," Martin wrote. "Because it is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot make detailed statements at this time. I am grateful for the countless messages of solidarity, and I receive them with all my heart." No further statements have been made by Martin. If you like TRUE CRIME TODAY - Be sure to search and subscribe wherever you download podcasts! Alex Murdaugh, a disgraced South Carolina lawyer, was charged with murder Thursday for the deaths of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul. During a hunting trip to the family's hunting estate "Moselle," Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were fatally shot. According to his death certificate, Paul, 22, was shot in the chest and head. According to Thursday's indictment, he was shot at close range with a shotgun. According to a person familiar with the investigation, Maggie, 52, was found lying facedown and shot multiple times in the chest and back, according to the indictment. Mr. Murdaugh's lawyers denied guilt in a statement. “Alex wants his family, friends and everyone to know that he did not have anything to do with the murders of Maggie and Paul. He loved them more than anything in the world,” read the statement. “But we know that Alex did not have any motive whatsoever to murder them.” They asked for a trial to begin as soon as this fall, an unusually quick timeline. Attorney General Alan Wilson said the case will be tried "as soon as reasonably possible." In addition to Maggie and Paul's deaths last year, two other suspicious deaths, an assisted suicide attempt, and millions of dollars in missing money have been investigated by the South Carolina lowcountry's most powerful family. His 81 felony charges, mainly related to financial crimes, such as breach of trust, forgery, and money laundering, have kept him in jail since last October in Columbia, South Carolina. For More on that, we go to True Crime Todays PJ. PJ gives us some context on Murdaugh's financial dealings. Murdaugh allegedly defrauded personal-injury clients of at least $8.5 million by taking settlement payments meant for trust accounts and depositing them into his own account. In late June, he was also charged with distributing oxycodone. In many cases, he has pleaded not guilty. His lawyers have blamed many of Mr. Murdaugh’s problems on an opioid addiction. State prosecutors gave scant details on the indictments which were handed down by a grand jury in Colleton County, S.C., Thursday morning. Mark Keel, chief of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, said that the investigation has been painstaking and methodical. “Over the last 13 months, SLED agents and our partners have worked day in and day out to build a case against the person responsible for the murders of Maggie and Paul and to exclude those who were not,” Mr. Keel said. “Today is one more step in a long process for justice for Maggie and Paul.” He was the former head of the state trial lawyers' association, founded by his grandfather, which was disbarred earlier this week by the state supreme court. In addition to running one of the state's largest personal injury firms, his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather served as district attorneys for the five-county region for nearly a century. Prior to being fired last September, Mr. Murdaugh was a part-time volunteer prosecutor and a partner in the family firm. The Parker Law Group spokesman declined to comment on the indictments. As a result of long-standing relationships with the family, local law-enforcement agencies bowed out of the investigation into Maggie and Paul's murders. It has been a year since state investigators said little about what happened, other than there was no danger to the public. Mr. Murdaugh's lawyers said last fall that despite being identified as a person of interest, his alibi was solid since he was visiting his ailing mother that evening. He admitted liability for the theft of a $4.3 million insurance settlement in a lawsuit filed by the sons of his former housekeeper Gloria Satterfield in May. Ms. Satterfield died a few weeks after falling down the stairs at Moselle. SLED has opened an investigation into her death. Murdaugh has largely been indicted by a statewide grand jury based in Columbia, which investigates cons...

An arrest was made after a 64-year-old woman allegedly hid her mother's body in a freezer earlier this year. Police found Marie Hoskins, 93, inside a chest freezer at 107 Paddock St. on April 28, during a welfare check. A police interview with the victim's daughter, Michele Hoskins, revealed that she found her mother dead in her bedroom. A deep freezer was bought by Michele so that she could receive disability benefits for her mother. After executing a search warrant, authorities discovered a heavily soiled mattress hidden behind thick brush and palm tree branches in the backyard. Michele Hoskins placed the victim's remains in the freezer around two weeks after she had died of natural causes. According to court records, Hoskins was arrested on July 7 and booked into the Indian County Jail on a $10,000 bond. It was reported that she was charged with failing to report a death and tampering with evidence. If you like TRUE CRIME TODAY - Be sure to search and subscribe wherever you download podcasts! After her disabled teen son died of malnutrition and hypothermia, a 43-year-old mother was arrested. Norton Shores police officers responded to a report of a suspicious death in the 4000 block of Marshall Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. on July 6. Authorities reportedly found the deceased teen at the scene. Michigan Live reports that Timothy Ferguson, 15, died from malnourishment and hypothermia, according to the medical examiner. Further investigation revealed that Ferguson's mother, Shanda Vander Ark, punished her son with ice baths. His death was even preceded by an ice bath, according to Michigan Live. The investigation revealed that Shanda Vander Ark received a number of punishments which were simply beyond the pale in terms of what should be administered to a child, according to the prosecutor. "Most notably, denial of food to the child, bread soaked in hot sauce poured down the child's throat, and placing the child in an ice bath." Roberts said. Moreover, Ferguson allegedly suff...
