Last month, a 14-year-old girl turned herself in to authorities for her alleged role in the beating death of a 73-year-old man. On Wednesday, July 13, NBC Philadelphia reported two teenagers surrendered to Philadelphia Police, but the 13-year-old was later released. In the death of 73-year-old James Lambert, however, the 14-year-old was charged with third-degree murder. A traffic cone was reportedly used to beat him several times. In the same incident, a 14-year-old boy and his 10-year-old brother surrendered to Philadelphia Police earlier this week. NBC Philadelphia reports that the 14-year-old has been charged with murder, but the 10-year-old has been released. Lambert was allegedly attacked by four juvenile males and three juvenile females at 2:38 a.m. on Friday, June 24, in the vicinity of Cecil B. Moore Avenue. The suspects hit the victim several times with objects, knocking him to the ground and injuring his head, according to the police report.
