An arrest was made after a 64-year-old woman allegedly hid her mother's body in a freezer earlier this year. Police found Marie Hoskins, 93, inside a chest freezer at 107 Paddock St. on April 28, during a welfare check. A police interview with the victim's daughter, Michele Hoskins, revealed that she found her mother dead in her bedroom. A deep freezer was bought by Michele so that she could receive disability benefits for her mother. After executing a search warrant, authorities discovered a heavily soiled mattress hidden behind thick brush and palm tree branches in the backyard. Michele Hoskins placed the victim's remains in the freezer around two weeks after she had died of natural causes. According to court records, Hoskins was arrested on July 7 and booked into the Indian County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
