Ben Levin, MD recently completed his residency in anesthesiology and is headed to Massachusetts General Hospital for a fellowship in critical care. In this episode, I have the privilege of speaking with Ben Levin, MD on the perioperative management of patients with left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) for non-cardiac surgery. We discuss device function, cardiac physiology, and perioperative management and monitoring of patients with LVADs.
