Through her career and communications strategy firm Commander-in-She, Valerie offers keynote presentations, group workshops and personal and corporate strategizing to help clients harness the power of story. A 10-time Emmy and 3-time Edward R. Murrow award winner, Valerie’s television work has appeared on HBO Sports, CBS News, ESPN, Weekend Today and Lifetime. Through Commander-in-She, Valerie combines her storytelling background with her passion for advocating for women in the workforce. She provides high-achieving women with the career tools and communication skills necessary to ascend the leadership ladder and works with corporations to develop and retain future talent. Her recent book, “Fire Your Narrator! A Storyteller’s Guide to Getting Out of Your Head and Into Your Life” explores the impact and influence of the stories we tell ourselves on our career success and satisfaction.
