“I can live without a partner, but I must have a dazi.” This has become a kind of social manifesto for today‘s young people. From meal dazi and workout dazi to study dazi and travel dazi, a new form of lightweight socializing—known as “dazi socializing”—is spreading rapidly among young people. In this episode of CD Voice, we start with a striking statistic: over 70% of young respondents said they have a dazi in their life. We explore why this “precise companionship” has won over so many, and what it offers—and what it cannot replace.
